The lighting load in commercial establishments is usually very high. Solar rooftop PV systems make use of the free space available on the roof. These systems are used to maximize building energy efficiency, implement renewable energy measures to achieve green building certification and cater to power outages

The solar PV modules can be mounted on the free space available on roofs to convert the sun’s energy directly into electrical energy. The electricity produced is direct current (DC) which is converted into alternating current (AC) with a Power Conditioning Unit (PCU). The AC power can either be consumed immediately in sync with the grid/other power sources or stored in batteries to be used during power outages/night time to drive critical loads.
